    ysl all hours foundation

Would you believe this is my first try of YSL? I was lucky enough to get a sample of this foundation a while ago and loved its consistency. However, it was a lighter shade so I was eager to try my own to see its results.

In case you have not seen – the beautiful Kaushal has shared a video on this beauty and shared her love for this foundation which looked stunning on her skin.

The All Hours Foundation is available in 22 shades and offers to deliver a flawless complexion which stays put for up to 24 hours! Its full coverage with a matte finish. Its waterproof and my favourite – transfer resistant! Its suitable for all skin types and has a SPF 20.

    My thoughts?

The packaging for starters is stunning and loving the luxurious feels. It also has a pump which makes it so easy to use and apply.

The foundation itself applies on so effortlessly and blends beautifully into the skin. I love only a small amount is needed as two pumps cover my entire face and have great coverage – covering all blemishes and redness. Its dries lovely and gives a lovely matte finish which I adore. For someone with oily skin, this is a bonus and I love I have the option to wear powder or not too.

I found using the All Hours Primer underneath sets the foundation even better on the skin – I managed to get a sample of this and I will be purchasing the full size as I love it.

However, there is one downside. The shades available do not cater much for those with darker skin tones. There are 22 shades but only 3 of those cater towards darker tones which is a shame as its a stunning foundation. I chose the shade Mocha which is slightly darker than my natural skin tone but found the shade under Amber was too light so it was the case of me blending them both to get my right shade.

All in all its a beautiful foundation and glad I’ve given it a go. Would I purchase again? No. And this is only based on the shades it provides. Please YSL cater for more variety for those with darker skin tones!

    Have you tried this?

    What are your thoughts?

    Till my next post..

I haven’t tried this one but I tried a sample of the Touche Eclat and found it covered absolutely nothing for me after I heard such great things about it! Such a shame that they don’t cater for a darker skin tone range, brands seriously need to be upping their game in that area! I imagine it’d get super expensive buying two different shades everytime you need to top up.

    • This sounds like the perfect foundation for me – I love a matte finish, with full coverage! It’s such a shame that they don’t cater more for darker skin tones, they’re missing out on such a big customer base.. 😔

Sounds like a great foundation! I don’t usually go for higher end foundations just because it’s quite expensive to keep buying them when you run out but if you only need a small amount, that sounds ideal x

    • Its crazy only 3 cater for darker skin! But I have been wanting to try this for a while! This is such a helpful review and I’ll definately be giving this a try, as someone pale hopefully I’ll be able to find a colour to match my skin!

Wow it sounds like a great foundation! Unfortunately, it’s a bit too high-end for me. I’m more of a budget-produtcs kinda gal. Great post!

Foundation is definitely one where it’s hard to buy! I know I always had the problem of I couldn’t get a light enough tone because I’m soo pale. I stopped wearing foundation after it continued to give me a break out. I’m really surprised that they don’t cater for more skin tones, surely now they should be able to cater for everyone.

The packaging is sooo lovely! I haven’t tried any YSL makeup, I would love to one day

That’s so unfortunate that they don’t have a bigger range! Especially nowadays I would love to see more expansion!

Sounds great but so disappointed by the lack of darker shades having 3 out of 22 is disgusting so I don’t think i’ll be trying this any time soon! On a lighter not great review xx
