I realised today is exactly 2 months till Christmas, can you believe it?! Around this time of year is where I like to make a start on some xmas pressies. (Well if I’m honest its also an excuse to buy some little things for myself!). We all want that little pamper for that upcoming work party, or to enjoy a girlie night in, but with the expense of this particular season festivities we still like to save a little too. This post was inspired by Satsuma’s Thrifty Christmas campaign as they will be sharing a Christmas Calendar of tips to make your festive season special this year.
So if you are looking for gifts for yourself or to treat someone in your family, these inexpensive beauty treats will work a dream. H&M released their 700 piece beauty range last year consisting of make up brushes, blushes, bronzers, body creams and much more. I wanted to share my favourite loves from the collection and thats their nail polishes and face masks.
These are perfect small gifts for Christmas, and what girl doesn’t love a face mask? I have tried many from all different brands, but have not seen such a vast range as H&M provide. They pretty much have every face mask you can think of to tackle blemish-prone skin to brightening your skin. Unfortunately they seem to sell a very small range online and you would need to go to one of their big stores (try oxford street!).
I was there for a while picking a few as there were so many! As I was breaking out at the time I went for Pomegranate and Mango – a pore-cleansing mask to help tired skin and Manuka Honey – a cleansing-peel off mask targeted for combination skin.
Both masks were beautiful and left my skin feeling so soft and refreshed, the scents to both was gorgeous. It did not irritate my skin, if anything it felt very soothing. It totally surprised me – H&M have pulled this one out of the bag and very much looking forward to trying more. Costing only £1.99, they are inexpensive, effective, give good results and may win you some brownie points if given as gifts.
I am always on the look out for great nail polishes, the formula for me is so important from its pigment, to drying and the colour itself. I am very picky on what polishes I use and again H&M need another round of applause, not only do they offer a huge range of colours from nude, pinks, deep reds and browns they offer matte, shimmer and glossy polishes too. I loved every shade, but as it was the first time trying them out, I picked a selected few which were perfect for the fall.
I picked a beautiful sunset orange brown and a deep brown. Both colours were rich in pigment and you could easily get away with one coat if you were in a rush. It dries quickly and most of all its very long lasting. I loved how it did not chip easily and I went two weeks with the same polish (and I always change my polish every week) I was very impressed and costing only £3.99 they are inexpensive too – just like the face masks. I am interested to try their nude and reds polishes which are colours I love for the Christmas season.
So whether you are looking for a early xmas pressies or to simply treat yourself – go and try H&M beauty range, you will not be disappointed. (I’ll be sharing a make up and beauty review soon – keep your eyes peeled)
