Reading as always been one of my loves – at most I prefer it than TV! I absolutely love sharing my thoughts on the latest book(s) with you and excited to share my third! You will be seeing a whole lot more of these type of posts so do let me know if you like reading these.

I had the opportunity to read GEEK GIRL (All that Glitters) by Holly Smale and is focused on a young girl known as ‘Harriet Manners’ going through the transition of starting sixth form (which we all know is daunting but an exciting change too!) this wonderful novel lets you follow the journey of an intelligent, often misunderstood, kind teenager trying to make friends and hoping this time round she will make a better impression. But along the way not only does Harriet dreams come true she gets more than she bargained for!

I love all the characters in this novel, they are all very different in their own right and can relate too! You would think a book about a teenager would be targeted at teens and young adults, at 28 years old I can admit I thoroughly enjoyed this book and really tapped in with the character Harriet.

“My name is Harriet Manners, and I have always been a geek”

What I love the most about this book is what its taught me – That you only need a few close people in your life that you can depend on and call a ‘friend’ I would rather have this than a tone, as you can still feel like the most loneliest person on earth. Most of all if you are different to everyone else then thats a good thing! Don’t be afraid to be quirky or what we call ‘different’ its what makes us all unique and makes the world interesting.

    Till my next post..

    • I wasn’t overly keen on any of the new people Harriet chose to hang around with other than India but then I loved seeing what Harriet got up to because this girl is a walking disaster most of the time but it’s just so lovable and entertaining that you can’t help but love her.
